Major Applications
  1. It can be used as a fixative in perfume. It can be used as insect repellent, disinfectant for external use, solvent for cellulose acetate, dyestuff, ink, resin, preservative and other medical uses. In addition, it is also used as an anesthetic for fish in aquaculture.
  2. Solvent : Phenoxy alcohol is a good solvent and miscibility, and is often used as a thinner for perfume. It is a better solvent and penetration aid for dyed hair coloring and nail polish, ink and solvent for benzol oil and its penetrant.
  3. Antiseptic and bactericidal : Phenoxyethanol has a specific bacteriostatic effect on pyocyanosis, and it has bacteriostatic effect on both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. Because of its solubility in water, white mineral oil, isopropyl palmitate vinegar and other cosmetics components. In addition, it is highly effective, broad-spectrum, low toxic and non allergic (2.2% aqueous solution is non irritating to the skin), so it is widely used in cream and shampoo of cosmetics.
